The Current Landscape of AI Generated Fraud Schemes
The HHS-OIG segment will showcase examples of how Artificial Intelligence can aid bad actors in carrying out large-scale fraud schemes with minimal financial investment and experience. This presentation will show how specific AI platforms available the public can be used to submit fraudulent claims for service in Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance settings. Replicating voices of real people to create coached calls for telemedicine, creating digital X-Rays, and even generating a provider’s S.O.A.P. style patient care notes are just scratching the surface. AI is rapidly advancing in areas healthcare that provide excellent and legitimate results; but in the hands of bad actors, it can create a proverbial firestorm for program integrity units.
