Health Care Fraud Schemes: Medical Doctor

Investigating Modifier 25

This webinar will examine modifier 25 and appropriate usage by medical doctors, particularly general practitioners. The speakers will present concepts through a case study where the initial assessment suggested a straightforward billing adjustment for using modifier 25 with Evaluation and Management (E&M) services was needed. However, you will hear how additional billed codes which lacked corresponding documentation in the medical records were discovered through a detailed examination. Explore best practices for reviewing modifier 25, focusing on precise code application and documentation requirements. Gain valuable insights to better detect anomalies in your claims data and medical record review.
