SIRIS Investigation of the Year: Dr. Antell’s Psychotherapy Services
January 21
One of two of NHCAA’s SIRIS Investigation of the Year Award winners, this presentation will examine the case against Dr. Pamela Antell, a licensed clinical psychologist who billed insurance for psychotherapy services she never provided. Review the analytics (including calculation of loss) and investigative methods used in this case, hear investigative challenges, and walk through the details of the more than six-million-dollar scheme. Improving Analytical Techniques: The Spreadsheet and Beyond
February 11
Data Analytics set the foundation for the scope of the investigation and can drive the prioritization of the investigation. By establishing the foundation of the investigation through the use of data analytics, enough information can be gathered to initiate the investigative steps needed to corroborate and/or exculpate the predicate established by the data and the allegation. Further, it is essential to a successful investigation to organize comprehensive data in an efficient way throughout the course of an investigation, especially as additional parties/ entities are identified, and new analysis is needed to further corroborate the links. This presentation will guide you through the steps necessary to develop a complex investigation, from the spreadsheet and beyond.
