Webinar Description
NHCAA’s annual law enforcement update brings together U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General (HHS-OIG) and the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
During the first part of our webinar, FBI Supervisory Special Agent Joe Parker will examine the problem of health care fraud, the FBI team, key statutes, and common schemes. SSA Parker will also discuss the value of private and public insurance data in federal health care fraud investigations and the importance of communication. He will end with an overview of a few of the 2023 national law enforcement actions.
In the second part of our webinar, hear from a panel of HHS-OIG on some of the most successful initiatives of the past year and examine priorities for the coming year. The panel will address key schemes from 2023 including DME and genetics testing, the Part D pharmacy fraud program, and the role of electronic health records in opioid diversion. Participants will hear investigative efforts, effective techniques, outstanding achievements and to better understand public sector goals and the intersection with private sector insurers and other law enforcement partners.

- This webinar will be complimentary to employees of Member Organizations, Affiliate Members, Government Liaisons, and Supporting Members from February 5 – February 29.
- Beginning March 1 there will be a $50.00 fee to register for all Member Organizations.
- Individual Members may purchase the webinar from February 5 – May 31 for $50.00.

Employees of NHCAA Member Organizations, Government Liaisons, Supporting Members, and Individual Members can register online for NHCAA webinars. A registration form is not available, you must login as a member to register. If you are having issues logging in or registering, please contact training@nhcaa.org.
Non-members, including local, state, and federal public agencies who are not NHCAA Government Liaisons, do not have access to NHCAA webinars.

REGISTRATION POLICIES
Complimentary registration closes on the last day of the month. Paid registration is open for three (3) additional months after the complimentary time-period ends. The registration period for both complimentary and paid registrations will end at 11:59 pm Pacific Time.Cancellation/Substitution
All cancellations (regardless of date) will be assessed with a $10 administrative fee. All written notice of cancellations and substitutions should be sent via email to training@nhcaa.org. Cancellations received within 5 days of the date of purchase will result in a refund minus an administrative fee if the training has not occurred. No refunds will be issued if any portion of the webinar has been viewed. Registrations are non-transferrable for webinars.Concerns

Webinar programs are most appropriate for beginning and mid-career analysts, investigators, consultants, and law enforcement agents working in the health care anti-fraud industry.
As a level II, or intermediate program, some investigative / health care / coding expertise is assumed. Training content is focused on the detection and investigative processes, using case examples to highlight strategy and techniques.
There are no pre-requisite requirements to attend webinar programs.
All webinars are approved by: NHCAA for 2 CPEs
Participants earn 1 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours applicable to the training requirements for the Accredited Health Care Fraud Investigator (AHFI®) designation.
Webinars are delivered via NHCAA Learn. You will need a good internet connection and an up-to-date version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari. Internet Explorer is not recommended and will not render content correctly.
