Recent Medicare Strike Force Takedown - Largest in History
On June 18, Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch and Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell announced the largest Medicare Strike Force takedown in the program's eight-year history. This effort was led by Medicare Fraud Strike Force teams in 17 federal districts across the nation. In total, charges were filed against 243 individuals, including 46 doctors, nurses and other licensed medical professionals, for their alleged participation in Medicare fraud schemes involving approximately $712 million in false billings. DOJ is posting related court documents (organized by district) and other key resources as they become available.
