NHCAA Comments on Proposed Medicaid Managed Care Rule

NHCAA has submitted a letter of comment in response to CMS publishing on June 1, a long-awaited proposed rule that aims to overhaul regulatory oversight of Medicaid managed care. Our comments focus on medical loss ratio and compliance program requirements. To access the 201-page rule, click here.

The document states that the rule would "modernize the Medicaid managed care regulations to reflect changes in the usage of managed care delivery systems." The rule would align Medicaid managed care regulations with those of other major sources of coverage, including Medicare Advantage plans and Qualified Health Plans. Included in the proposed rule are several program integrity-related provisions.
