Health Care Fraud and Organized Criminal Groups
In South Florida alone, government programs and private insurers have lost hundreds of millions of dollars in recent years to criminal rings that fabricate claims from non-existent clinics, using genuine patient-insurance and provider-billing information that the perpetrators have bought and/or stolen for that purpose. Guard against this criminal element by protecting your medical identify, your health insurance card and related documents, and by reading your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to ensure your insurer has not been billed for services not provided.
The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Office of the Inspector General has identified that most wanted health care fraud fugitives, many from organized crime rings, and asks your help locating their whereabouts.
