Skills & Schemes for the Health Care Fraud Investigator
September 17 - 19
3 days | 24 CPEs
Level II
Explore current trends, red flags, case examples and fraud schemes in a variety of specialty areas, while considering the investigative skills necessary to conduct successful health care fraud investigations. A host of specialty areas will be discussed, including: vein therapy, interventional radiology, enrollee fraud, lab services, kickbacks, leased equipment, and more.
September Case Discussion Roundtable Meeting
Case Discussion Roundtable Meetings provide an opportunity for both our private and public sector members to come together to share information and discuss active health care fraud investigations as well as schemes, trends, and fraud patterns. In an effort to expand and enhance the benefits of the Case Discussion Roundtable Meetings to include more staff from Special Investigation Units (SIUs), Case Discussion Roundtable Meetings will be held in conjunction with each of the scheduled 2013 National Education & Training Series (NETS) programs and the 2013 Annual Training Conference.
Case Discussion Roundtable Meetings are for employees of NHCAA's Corporate Member Organizations who have signed an Information Sharing Agreement and NHCAA's Law Enforcement Liaisons (LELs). Attendees are grouped by geographic regions. Each group discusses cases and trends they are experiencing. Issues that may cross regional boundaries or between different public and private insurance products are documented and then shared with the entire group during the last phase of the meeting. These meetings are invitation only. The next Case Discussion Roundtable Meeting will be held the afternoon of Wednesday, September 18, 2013. If you would like to receive an invitation, please contact Brian Viggiano, Deputy Director of Anti-Fraud Initiatives, via email at bviggiano@nhcaa.org.
